Discipleship

Jesus commanded His followers not only to share the Gospel, but to make disciples. At Hope to Share, discipleship is at the heart of our family’s ministry. John, Justine, Matthew, and Lexi each invest in people through mentoring relationships, Bible studies, leadership development, outreach, and creative arts.

While our methods may differ, our goal remains the same: to help people grow in their relationship with Jesus, discover their God-given purpose, and become disciple-makers themselves. Whether through structured studies, student mentoring, village outreach, fitness discipleship, or performing arts, we seek to encourage others to follow Christ and influence their communities for His Kingdom.

The following ministries represent some of the ways our family is helping make disciples in Thailand and beyond.

New Life Study

The New Life Study is one of our primary discipleship tools for seekers, new believers, and anyone wanting to better understand the foundations of the Christian faith. Through a series of simple, discussion-based lessons, participants are encouraged to explore who Jesus is, what He taught, and what it means to follow Him.

Today, the New Life Study is available in English, Thai, and Urdu. Multiple groups are actively using the material in both Thailand and Pakistan, allowing people from different backgrounds and cultures to engage with the Gospel in their own language.

One of the greatest joys has been hearing participants share how the study has strengthened their faith and increased their confidence in talking about Jesus with friends, family members, and neighbors. Rather than simply providing information, the New Life Study is designed to help people take practical steps toward becoming lifelong followers of Christ who can share their faith with others.

Anchor Discipleship

Anchor is a mentoring and discipleship program serving international students in Chiang Mai. For many years, it has provided young people with trusted relationships, spiritual encouragement, and practical guidance as they navigate the challenges of adolescence and young adulthood.

Matthew first became involved with Anchor as a sixth-grade student and continued through high school, eventually serving as a student leader. Many of the young men he now mentors through physical fitness and discipleship relationships first connected with him through Anchor. His ability to encourage, listen, and provide wisdom has made him a trusted influence among the next generation as they navigate school, friendships, faith, and life’s challenges.

John has also been deeply involved in Anchor for many years. What began with hosting gatherings in our home grew into mentoring student leaders and supporting the ministry behind the scenes. Today, John serves as Program Director, overseeing mentor recruitment, training, and program development for more than 240 students and mentors. Beyond administration, he is often the person students, parents, and mentors seek out when facing spiritual questions, personal struggles, or important life decisions.

Through Anchor, young people are finding community, discovering their identity in Christ, and learning how to live out their faith in everyday life.

Personal Discipleship & Bible Studies

Discipleship often happens best through consistent relationships. Justine invests in several ongoing mentoring and discipleship relationships with Thai believers and seekers in Chiang Mai.

Through weekly Bible studies, village outreach, prayer, and personal encouragement, she is helping individuals grow in their understanding of Scripture and their confidence in sharing the Gospel with others. These relationships provide opportunities not only for learning but also for practicing faith through service, outreach, and community engagement.

Our goal is not simply to teach biblical knowledge, but to help people become disciples who make disciples.

Supporting the Arts

Creative arts provide unique opportunities to communicate truth, build relationships, and encourage spiritual growth. Through her involvement in a local Christian performing arts community, Lexi has helped bring stories of faith, hope, redemption, and courage to audiences throughout the region.

Productions such as The Horse and His Boy and A Fool’s Hope have created opportunities to share God’s story through theater while bringing together young people from diverse backgrounds.

While Lexi enjoys performing, much of her ministry takes place behind the scenes. Whether helping with hair and makeup, encouraging cast members, or simply investing in friendships, she consistently uses her gifts to serve others and point people toward Christ.
